A specialist in marked cards cheating is called a paper player while those specializing in switching cards are called a hand mucker. The player using mechanical holdouts is called a machine player.
The other popular forms of poker cheating are confederacy and false shuffling. In false shuffling, the cards are shuffled so that the desired cards are located in the right position. The cards have to be pre-arranged while the card cheat ensures that the deck is not touched or disturbed.
